  • Wow!!--It'll be fifty years in April since I took the boys into Sound Plus studio in Philly to cut the song--Seems just like yesterday--What wonderfully memories.---Sy Kaplan

  • Wow theres history right here on this comment thread, some great singers

  • The song was played on KJR in Seattle,Washington in 1962 and was a coast to coast hit and killer of a tune! Anyone who heard this song will never forget it. Took me 25 years to finally get my own copy and of such things the magic of rock and roll are made!

  • @body0guard Jeff Leonard's Bait Shop now has a recording studio in the basement. I think that his store used to be the "D and R" tavern when I was a kid on Harwood Avenue. Jeff stops into "Tip O'Leary's" some nights.

  • @TheEttingoff Ants did not play on Bongo Stomp. Later, he was witu the Flips when the were the house band on Jerry Blavit's T. V. show

  • Did a guitar player named Tony"Ants " Dicarolus play on this or was he the Tony in the nexst group. I know Tony went on to play with Frankie Vallee.

  • @body0guard Sy Kaplan lives in Myrtle Beach SC these days.

  • @body0guard Mr. Dilks, it's been along time! Catching the echos in Gimbles Parkie, or the stores along 69th St., and of course singing in the terminal Friday nights as everyone was going and returning to all the local dances during that era. Great times and you were a great lead and didn't we have some nice harmony! john smith
