After coming back from the territory, I had to wait in Mt Isa on the Sunday for a load out on the monday and to have a 24 Hr break for the weeks driving hours. I was parked up at the Shell truck port or Truck city as its known locally and meet Andy, who had to wait till monday to load as well, so we went to town and had a look around and then in the afternoon moved over to where we had to load the next morning and knocked up a feed at Andy's diner. Andy was a great bloke and a true blue Aussie.

  • You coulda had a great feed at the Shell truckstop but you can blame Coles for pulling the pin on that. Used to be a top little truckstop but last time I was there coupla years ago it was a bloody great dustbowl with dirty showers...thanks, Coles Express. Mind you, having a cook up is OK, just make sure it's in that half hour window between flies and mozzies lol.
