Best part is,if their arm escapes,switching to the other arm is extremely effective and quick,as well as the variation to get them into a triangle if their arm escapes as well.

To answer your question, try it with someone competent in BJJ, you will find you are more concerned about stopping your arm being snapped than punching....try it

Is there a way I can get away with using this technique without getting punched? I hate getting punched in the face. Or maybe I lack speed thats why I get punched.

You execute the movement, if you are punched chances are it won't finish you. You should expect to get punched at some point during a streetfight...that's what happens in a fight.
