I am looking in to having a PCB fab house print out the circuit-boards for me. Right now the biggest problem is that it takes me 7+ hours just to make all the solder traces and leads by hand, then I have to actually build the prop. With a printed circuit board I could spend more time on the aesthetics.

@topgunatf LaRdArms one looks sick. That nice briefcase he used probably cost about half of what my entire project cost though. I'm not against making a nice looking one like that, my main goal was just to create a very affordable prop.
To answer your question of why I built it, I just wanted a good project to do that would teach me how to program an Arduino.

makes sense but wouldent it be easier to justuse epoxy on the inside to seal it

@topgunatf Thats how it is. The LCD is epoxied into the project box, and the lexan is epoxied over the lcd to water proof it. The tape doesn't really serve any purpose other than a border.
