Drum grooves inspired by J-P Gaster, Benny Greb, Gavin Harrison, John Bonham, Jojo Mayer and others... and some that possibly came out from somewhere in my mind.

Recorded and mixed by Petri Kallio (Thanks dude!)

Drums are Pearl Sensitone Elite 14"x6,5" brass snare, Tama Granstar 24" bass, 12" rack tom and 16" floor tom. And a PDP 10" mini-timbale.

Cymbals in this video include: Meinl Byzance extra dry 14" hihat, Zildjian K 14" hihat top, Sabian HHX 21" Groove ride, Byzance 18" thin crash, Zildjian 20" Oriental Crash of Doom, Wuhan 20" china, my old faithful x-hat with Stagg 10" splash and Meinl Classics 12 china...

And a Pearl Anarchy Crasher.

Video shot with Canon EOS 500D (aka T1i), Lensbaby Fisheye, Canon 50mm f/1.8, Sigma 17-70, Tokina 11-16.

  • bro would you recomend the pearl sensitone brass elite..im deciding between a chad smith signature ian paice signature and this one..help please ?

  • @saadkyahaalhai Yeah, I recommend the Sensitone! I really love the sound of brass snares, I've got and can recommend a WorldMax Black Dawg too (very similar to Sensitone Elite, I've got the 5" deep model) Brass sounds a bit warmer than steel. (I think at least the Paice -model was steel)

  • 4:36 Ootko siä tehny Thoomannille ne rumpuääninäytteet?!?!? :D

    Kuulosti ihan samalta!

  • @MrZantso heh, pitäsköhän hakee töitä niiltä? :)

  • I think the first come from portnoy

  • @Toneleaf I think Slaughtered by Pantera is where I first heard that being used. But it's based on the paradiddlediddle -rudiment and I think quite many drummers who familiarize themselves with rudiments figure that out at some point and so Portnoy has probably played that too.

  • Where can i buy your cowbellstand? :D

  • @MrMeinlDrums I think you'll have to ask it's wife. Probably not cheap, but this model comes with the ability mix some wicked drum sounds!

  • Love all of this. Everything sounds great, especially the drums (all of them). The mini make-shift hi-hats were very cool.
