Chapter: "The Scipii-Spain Alliance"
Year Period: 176-174
The Britons attempt to fight through the Roman blockade. layers of Cohort stop their success and they eventually rout and are all slain. Minimal losses secure the success of the battle. 48 losses and 138 kills means that the Britons have no one fleeing back to Numantia.
The Romans move into Egyptian territory, possibly to help the Egyptians survive against Pontic siege. The Roman army is unable to reach the Pontic force in time and they successfully take the city of Thebes. meanwhile, the Romans purchase Pontic map information. Remarkably, the Pontics have enormous armies of the Scipii border, and control much of Asia, with Parthia and Armenia controlling one province each. In 174BC, Marcus Burrus, the first non Scipio faction leader dies, leaving the throne to Herius Scipio.
