@dondonp12004 Of course, I was born two years and two days before the WNBC radio and the rest of the NBC Radio Network and Stations.

It's kind of funny how Jack Benny sounded SO MUCH like Bob Barker in that clip!

From Wikipedia, if I can remember correctly:
WNBC (AM) was a radio station that operated in New York City from 1922 to 1988. For most of its history, it was the flagship station of the NBC Radio Network. The station left the air on October 7, 1988; its former frequency is occupied by all-sports WFAN.

3:16: "Fox NewsChannel 5." With all respect to Steve Powers, I thought he might have said "Fox Channel 5 News". Oh, well. WNYW's current news branding is "Fox 5 News". WNBC television, in a "worldwide headquarters" commercial from the mid-to-late 1990s was referred to as "NBC NewsChannel 4." That was at the time WNBC-TV was known by general branding of "NBC 4" and the news branding of "NewsChannel 4". Now WNBC-TV bradings reverted to "4 New York" and "News 4 New York".

Well, I didn't mean that literally, I grew up with W.N.B.C. in the 70s and have a lot of memories tied to that station. Around 1982 is when 66 started to lose it's appeal. I miss "66 NBC" and the 70s thats all. As for WFAN being there now well "cough cough" what else could they put there besides a sport station. I do remember a station in Stonington, Connecticut with those call letters though.

I think that's a BIT of an exagerration. I mean, I'm sorry but WNBC was a mess at the end there. Between Imus totally drunk all the time, there helicopters killing their own traffic reporters because of lack of maintainence, and a line-up that was a string of boring talk show hosts wasn't getting it done. WNBC started to slide when FM took over music. And that was WAY before 88'. WFAN still exists on that frequency now, so it couldn't have been a mistake.
It's 10PM. Do you know where your children are?
I told you last night, NO!
