I attended 3 shows during this tour. I recall when Lennon was asked what he thought about the whole thing. Lennon replied, "George is going to NEED a Dark Horse by the time he comes off of this tour!"

This is from the Scorcese HBO documentary! I'd love to see the whole segment. Billy Get-Back Preston and George sound great together; I wish they toured together with a smallish band, playing each others hits like they did on this too big tour back in 74.

I hazard a guess that his hoarseness had less to do with laringytis than with heavy cocaine and alcohol consumption at the time. His voice sounded okay when he wasn't singing, in press conferences and stuff.
