More than 300,000 runners in Kahit Isang Araw Lang: Unity Run
PASAY CITY, Philippines -- On January 22, 2012 over 300,000 runners all over the nation participated in last Sunday's Unity Run at the SM Mall of Asia grounds that started as early as 4AM. The event is part of the "Kahit Isang Araw Lang" (Even for Just One Day) advocacy propelled by Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon, which aims to build 160 computer classrooms in different public schools,
In 2010, three months after "Kahit Isang Araw Lang: Takbo Para sa Libreng Kolehiyo" (Just One Day: Run for Free College Education), La Verdad Christian College in Caloocan City was inaugurated to continuously provide free education, books, uniforms, and even food meals for deserving college students in Manila. The success of 2010's event further inspired Mr. Razon and catapulted the idea of a more ambitious marathon for a greater cause.
This 2012, Kahit Isang Araw Lang Unity Run was a simultaneous marathon in seven points all over the Philippines, namely: Manila, Cebu, Tacloban, Palawan, Davao, Butuan, and Bacolod; not to mention different chapters across the globe including several points South America, Singapore, Papua New Guinea, Los Angeles and New York, USA.
