This is, in my opinion the best version of this song. I used pictures that I found to go along with the words. I think it came out great. Enjoy. :)

Barbra Streisand "Lazy Afternoon"

It's a lazy afternoon
And the beetle bugs are zooming
And the tulip trees are blooming
And there's not another human in view,
But us two

It's a lazy afternoon
And the farmer leaves his reaping
And the meadow cows are sleeping
And the speckled trouts stop leaping up stream
As we dream

A far pink cloud hangs over the hill
Unfolding like a rose
If you hold my hand and sit real still,
You can hear the grass as it grows
It's a hazy afternoon
And I know a place that's quiet, except for daisies running riot
And there's no one passing by it to see
Come spend this lazy afternoon with me

  • Just Incredible! this song always makes me think of lazy summer days.

  • This is a "proud" video. =p

  • Your vid is a favorite on Tarawa Atoll

  • I loved her rendition of this song in her NYC concert .... and she preceded it with, "Do you ever just want to get away? I feel that way all the time..." It connected with the audience ... made her seem like anybody else .... she just happens to be, in her words, "what's her name..."

  • I bought this album when it first came out in 1975. It was fabulous then, and it reamains still incredible. This is my favorite song on the album. I used to go to sleep by it.

  • Wow, perfect visual for a great song.

  • @bull2p7 It was Rupert Holmes. He's a genius!! : )

  • Rupert Holmes' production and orchestration skills beautifully compliment Barbra's performance! Nice pics too! : )

  • Beautfiul job with the video to a wonderul song. Thank you for posting.

  • I like this arrangement the best. Of course the singing is great, but I really hear it more like an instrument, adding to the richness of this piece. I wonder who wrote this particular arrangement? Thank you for posting this!
