Part 2....and get another guy to come and sing" James went into the studio and nailed it with such beauty that Cynthia became ovewhelmed and accidentally shut off the tape.
The demo was so good that it was pitched to the record label and the rest is history.
A foot note is they couldn't find a pianist to capture the same feeling in the 'official' recording and had to hunt down the original pianist.
A truly brilliant song and artist. Thanks for posting.

This is a beautiful song written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. I heard them speak and they originally wrote this song for George Benson and needed a singer for the demo. James Ingram was a back up singer at the time and was recommended to them. He arrived and was warming up his voice in an adjoining room. Cynthia was curious and went to listen and was horrified by what she heard! She went back to Barry in the control room and said "This guy can't sing" to which he said "We'll do one take and

I fell in love with this man the very first time I heard his voice. he is an amazing artist and not tomention he is so increibly hot. i wish he would do another concert I have been waiting for the chance to see him live. that would be a dream come true for me.
