Angeline the Baker.MPG

I am not sure who I learned this from. I remember a guy named "Henry The Fiddler" who used to come to the Galax festival in the late 60's and he played this. I used to play with Roger Sprung on this one as well. Then, Frank George played it some too so I am not really sure.

I am joined by Dane Schuyler, a really nice fiddler who was in town from Indiana.

Great music . I love this tune . Did you ever play with Dan Gardella? He dose a great version of this .. I just had a email from Henry (Who is up on YT ) Rodger is a Ct neighbor and old friend . Maybe I met you back in the 70's at Union Groves . All the best , Guy

Thank you very much for letting me know what happened to Henry. He cut quite a path and was a real character back then. I have not seen nor have I spoken with Roger in a number of years but he was the best hornpipe player on the banjo - ever.

Hi, this is Richard Hawthorne and I have been Rogers bass player for the past 35 years. He is still playing those hornpipes and I agree that he probably knows more hornpipes than anybody I know.
