This video clip was extracted from the documentary "This is Kung Fu" (Chinese Martial Arts) produced in 1983. This documentary covers the heritage sites of several major martial arts as well as demonstrations by martial arts masters in person. For those who are greatly interested in martial arts and those who work in the field of martial arts, this documentary provides valuable reference materials. Unlike most of the martial arts-based movies, this film does not use any non-realistic special effects, so it is indeed a rare martial arts documentary.
Detailed description of this documentary can be viewed from the following website:

However, this film focused mainly on the northern schools of martial arts, the southern schools of martial arts were rarely covered. It is a pity, but I hope in the near future, some interested parties will set up a complete wushu database very much like a combination of Wiki and YouTube so that both northern and southern schools of Chinese martial arts can come along with the Chinese culture to continue to spread and develop.
WuShu is the generic name for chinese martial arts, so there are no "other" such arts. There is no such art as KungFu, it (or rather GongFa) means "effort" or "discipline". So there is ShaoLinGongFa or WuDanGongFa, among others. When it comes to fighting, the WuShu thinking rates guts and speed over training and strength. Nevertheless, fully(!!!) trained TaiChi-fighter is superior to all. But one has to experience it first. This is why there are so many ignorant yoyos who think differently.

@fgah Martial Arts is only useful depending on the practitioner. Muay Thai is for taking people down as fast as you can. There is a combat style of Taekwondo called Kukkikwon which is used by the Korean military. Kung Fu, Wu Shu, and other Chinese and Korean martials are useful if you really know how to use them.

Why state the obvious? , and muay thai generally inforces strength and pain endurance along with good fitness as a part of the art :)

Sorry typo mistake should be pain not spain.
fgah 2 years ago
Thai Boxing combined with strength and spain endurance could easily beat the shit out of of those Kung Fu dancers.

muay = boxing; muay thai = thai boxing

What is muay? same like thai marshal art?
fgah 2 years ago
You maybe think that because taekwondo is one of the most useless martial arts out there, while muay thai is widely regarded as the best in the world , and is done by many mma fighters , which are almost the same as an actual fight

I served in R.O.C Marine Corp tank corp from 65-69 but we were mainly trained in Tak Kwan Do look alike combat technique and bayonet fighting, and we rarely mention Kung Fu even in battlefield lecture coz Kung Fu is impractical and utterly useless in real combat. However, I think Ta Kwan Do technique is also useless in real combat though much superior and practical than Kung Fu dance. In close hand to hand fighting, only brute force, bravery,pain-endurance and luck determine the outcome.
