  • I have a problem with twister side control. My oponents dont move, I cant do the twister roll and aparently I have to go to mounted position and I am not very good at that. Is there a way to "motivate" the oponent to turn towards me so I can do the twister roll? Thank you in advance for the answer.

  • @Hulkmania316 You can certainly pull their farside knee toward you, but before I got good at mastering twister side control, I would STRONGLY tighten up my mount game. Keep in mind that 10PJJ is a wonderful branch of a grappling tree- but it is a branch. You need to have a well rounded grappling game and then supplement it with the 10PJJ stuff like twister side control.

  • on your calf crank you are reaching up with your left arm, he was an armbar counter if you do that because you are putting your arm between his legs. Still possible done your way but you don't need both arms, you can maintain control of his leg with your left arm and still hit the calf crank.

  • @kevinreyesgibbs The armbar counter is definitely something that you need to be aware of when reaching with both arms. Some guys like to reach with just one arm so that it eliminates that counter, but I feel like I don't have nearly the same torque on the leg. I should have mentioned it in the video, so I'm glad you did.

Thanks for watching, and check out the site!

  • I have consistently mentioned the influence that Eddie Bravo and the 10PJJ system has played on JJ. However Eddie didn't invent the Twister-- not even close! He utilized it in JJ, but certainly didn't invent it. Why don't people who teach the kimura mention that name, or any others? It's not a shot against them- just doesn't come up. I personally think that Eddie has produced a new limb- not a new tree, of jiu-jitsu.

  • Great video. I was just wondering though why you don't mention the source of the technique Eddie Bravo and the 10th Planet System.

  • @Hulkmania316 Try the Hogtie. Its in the Twister book

  • I can nail everything except breaking my opponents grip to finalize the twister, any recommendations to do this? And a technical question, does it matter that your bottom leg needs to go between their leg, and why

  • incredibly informative video. a lot of other instructional videos tend to skip over the basics of the twister, so this is a godsend. thank you.

  • @TechniquePrevails yes, you are right. I need to improve my mount game. I will start doing that. Thank you for your time.

  • ha i think people in jiujitsu do well in English i love all the metaphors

  • @TechniquePrevails Can you still do the Twister when you have your partner mounted and your partner is in the fetal position?
