  • Hi, definately Changi. Sorry! Mums still alive and sharp as a razor. If they were built as married quarters I expect they would all be similar. Chris.

  • The music used to be Israel Kamakawayawoo singing "Somewhere over the rainbow". However it got censored I have chosen this from the YouTube library. No Idea what it is. Glad you enjoyed the memories.

  • Lloyd Leas Camp as far as I can remember, Served time there...

    (Not Lloyd Lees)

  • Correct me if I am wrong, but this looks more like Seletar (where I live) than Changi. An example is at 3:35 - this is DEFINITELY a Seletar semi-d. I used to live in one until demolished to make way for Seletar Aerospace Park.

  • We used to live at 17 AMQ Lloyd lees 1954-1956 , truly nostalgic memories

  • Great to see. My Grandparents, the Quarringtons, met there in the late 40's. They are now sadly departed but I'll always remember the immortal words from my Grandmother 'When we were in Singapore!'

  • I lived there too .... the happiest days of my life as a young mother from 1974 -1976 and off and on until 1981 in Changi but not the former married men's housing.

    Thank you for the memories.

  • Great to see the place. I taught at Changi Grammar School, which was in an old barrack block and a few atap huts, and left the year they moved to a 'proper' building. Two of my daughters were born in Changi Hospital. If you want to know the year, well, the caff in the village was always playing Connie Francis singing "Stupid Cupid" when we arrived!

  • I use to live around Mariam Close around loyang area (Changi) in the 80's & eary 90s. Its changed so much!

  • My pleasure - it is a hauntingly beautiful piece of music and should be more well-known.
