Our P-791 stealth blimp video is our most watched presentation--yet the many ignorant comments its received and DELETED are a disgrace to be a representative sample of the American public. This video is for all the ignorant dumbasses who mocked the APPEARANCE of the "Dumbo" P-791 LTA Hybrid blimp who have no clue about FUNCTION which is what matters most.

The U.S. Army needs a PERSISTANT air surveillance presence over AFPAK not constantly crashing fixed-wing UAVs that can't see squat and have Hadji hacking into their signals (Watch our many "UAVs Suck" videos). So the U.S. Army is LEADING THE WAY here to get-the-job-done as it was the first service to put reconnaissance, observation and attack aircraft into combat use in the first place (not the USMC).

The modular "Murphy Bays" could also be swapped out for a 1 or 2-man crew module to eliminate the dependance on signals to steer the Dumbo P-791. We have to start somewhere and this is a great start.

Go U.S. Army!

  • In another of your videos you hint that this vehicle can remove the vulnerability of the us navy surface fleet from missile attack and that these craft could even be built as aircraft carriers? As an unmanned recon device these things would be great and the United States has had an extreme surplus of helium for years (since before world war 1) so it won't cost much to keep them flying. The math doesn't work to make the dirigible into an effective aircraft carrier.

  • @SnuffitLabs Sure the math works; the math worked in the 1930s when we had small HTA aircraft operate from LTAs, it can be done today, too. First we have to get LTAs back in general use.

  • The Army is going to find a way to mess this up. Some Brass with a techno fetish will want to stuff useless "bells and whistles" or some new "fangled" unproven tech that will drive up cost and eventually lead to the demise of the program (see FCS for proof). Plus I will expect some push back from the US Airforce egomaniacs who believe that everything in the sky is their domain.

  • Correct me if I am wrong, but along side of the opportunties it allows, such as prolonged surveillance to, if and/or when the technology would allow us, long range heavy transport, one thing I particularly find interesting about these concepts is the relief on logisitics, such as on fuel reserves, lack of the need of refueling, to the necessity of large runways in order to deploy in certain areas

Sadly..we live in an age when some top dog is bound to screw this up with impratical FCS ideology

  • Beautiful Video!!!

  • End this stupid war in Afghanistan!

  • As you've said, it's a good start. We don't have to jump the gun yet, but this technology needs to expand and be put to other uses as well.
