visit: http://www.humpdayhaha.blogspot.com (go there for a laugh or two) and http://www.scarysoundfx.com for the sickest sounds and ring tones!). (NOTE: there will be a full, 15 minute, detailed version of this available soon to purchase with a bunch of bonuses!). Here is a sample 'how to' video on Foley Sound Effects creation and editing. The sounds are created with a visual reference (TV in background) and then edited together in an audio workstation (Sound Forge 4.5) and video NLE (Vegas 5). my website, scarysoundfx com, is where you can find some of the best horror/sci-fi sounds ever.

  • gunky ha that's going in the urban dictionary!

  • @jodeemareegreen2 - hey, that's my ad-lib word! Oh, okay then. Urban dictionary it is. Do I get royalties????? Cheers!

  • at 6:44 the 'mixing' function

is that an add on? where do i go to find it?

    im using sound forge 8

  • I was using 4.5, all I did was right click, drop-down menu has option for 'mix' as opposed to 'paste'. My version is so old, I'm not sure what the newer versions do, but it wasn't an add-on, it was part of the program. Hope this helps! Cheers!

  • I sometimes use my shotgun mic (AT815b) to reduce room ambience. Sometimes I put blankets up around the mic as well, it really helps. The Sony mic in the video can change from 90 degrees to 120 degrees.

  • This was most interesting, and a learning experience to see. Thanks!

  • classic...it came out good!

  • This is great stuff! I'd love to see more. I do sound design but I've yet to really tackle Foley (in the traditional sense)

  • Very nice... we really need more videos like this. Also which microphones to use when recording SFX. I bought a Rode NT1-A mainly to be used for voice but i have tried using it for effects too. Problem is that it has a Cardioid directional pattern which picks up a lot of ambiance from the room so i also use methods to reduce the noise. ^^

  • This was great. The best foley stuff I've found on the internet so far. Thanks a ton.
