Most YouTube videos of "Wizardry 1" show the NES port but here is the original Apple II version from 1981, developed by Greenberg & Woodhead and published by Sir-Tech.

  • Sara (G-Pri)... is that a reference I detect? ;)

  • I THINK she was named after the fortune teller in Ys (the game from which Adol's name (G-Fig) is also taken), but it's been a while since I recorded the video so I might be wrong...

  • Really? Actually, it initially jumped out as a reference to Wizardry: Tales of the Forsaken Land (which I've been playing recently), wherein one of the earlier party members (not necessarily one of the best) is a good-aligned priestess named Sara.

  • Nah, haven't really played any of the Japanese Wizardry games like Tale of the Forsaken Land (except for the SNES remake of Wizardry 1, if that counts). I agree that it would have been a very appropriate reference, though...

  • EXCELLENT game. I just got done playing this earlier on the 52" plasma.... native composite output FTW! Nothing like playing wizardry on 52" in the dark..... nostalgia overload

  • Wow, Wizardry on a 52 plasma? Sounds really awesome...

  • @Belroch yep great spell. Personally i loved makanito the best.

  • @DickLodge68 How in the hell did u get killed by creeping coins?? They breathe on the party but it never affected anyone. They also traveled with the small objects and they were worth tons of xp but they were a pain in the ass if they surpised u and u spend hours watching them breathe.

  • I am proud to have the NES version.

Haven't played it yet. So many games, so little time...

  • haha...thanks for the post! I remember spending hours getting a great party together....only to be slaughtered by creeping coins! lol

  • This game is just brutal: it can throw a group of enemies at your party right at the beginning of the game that can kill most of your party when they're at full HP, and then you'll not even have enough money to resurrect them at the Temple of Cant.

  • Tiltowait...The ultimate spell in this game xD
