Jun 19th, 2011: Nine months ahead of presidential elections in Russia neither President Dmitry Medvedev nor his predecessor -- and now prime minister - Vladimir Putin, have declared that they will enter the contest. Their apparent indecision and the uncertainty it is arousing amongst Russians and the business community are beginning to have a real impact - But Mr. Medvedev calls for patience.

In an exclusive interview with the Financial Times in St. Petersburg the Russian president tells Neil Buckley that he wants another term although he hasn't yet decided whether he will actually run. He adds that he and Mr. Putin would not run against each other and an answer on candidacy will come before long, he says.
