In the feature and closing Serie A game of round 21, Inter Milan have defeated city rivals AC Milan 2-0 with goals by Diego Milito and Goran Pandev.
AC Milan missed several goal-scoring opportunities, while Inter Milan were dangerous mostly on counter-attacks. Milito scored early in the first half, than his team mate Sneijder was red carded after just 27 minutes for mocking referee Gianluca Rocchi.
In the second half, Pandev hit the post but later scored on freekick to secure the win for the Nerazzurri, although AC Milan kept fighting. Inter's Lucio was shown a second yellow card in the 90th minute for a handball which led to a penalty kick for the Rossoneri - however, Ronaldinho's shot was saved by Julio Cesar.
With today's win, Inter extend their lead over AC Milan and now have a nine-point advantage.

Shortly after however, Pandev was rewarded for his fine display when he whipped a free kick over the wall to double the Nerazzurris lead. Mourinho had indicated from the sidelines that the Macedonian was to take the shot, and the hitman repaid his coach with a wonderful strike.
