  • i just want to know why you need hearing protection from a 22. short round...

  • @USMC1775GUY They are 22 long-rifles and they are pretty loud coming out of a 5" pistol barrel.

  • A .380 is a little too small and under powered for personal defense. Nothing smaller than a .38 or 9mm. If you disagree, name a single police department that issues a .380 to its officers. It lacks stopping power and penetration

  • I know 380s are 'small' but there are times when I can't carry my full size pistol, and a 380 is a hell of a lot better than nothing, especially with Hornady Critical Defense ammo.

Quote from a guy on the TV show "Best Defense" (outdoor channel) "no one likes getting shot and no one is going to stand there and take a face full of 380s"

  • @USMC1775GUY Because that little bastard is actually pretty loud. First time I fired one without ear plugs it the ringing was worse than my glock.

  • @shooter1521 Everybody know that

  • A hitman's weapon of choice actually is a .22. Dont ask how I know that :)

  • If you shoot an attacker---99% he will turn and run...when the adrenal glands calm down, any 22lr wounds will be serious. I shoot my sig 22lr quit often and it will go through 3 sheets of plywood, 1/2 inch thick will no problem. A BB will usually stick in the 1st sheet in plain view. So, yeah, the 22 is dangerous.

  • @USMC1775GUY they shoot 22lr not shorts and you normally shoot high or hyper velocity out of sig 22's and they are a lot louder than you would think

  • @jpop8807 Yep. For some reason these numbnuts think that if you shoot a common burglar with a .380 they will shrug it off and attack you. The very sight of you pulling out a gun is enough to get most to run away. A shot to the face or chest will get them to pull back. And hell ... they are small rounds. You have LOTS of rounds. If you can't put some of them on target and stop your attacker there is something wrong with you and shouldn't be carrying anything with a larger round anyway.

  • @numetheus Agreed hell i watched something on the history channel or discovery the mobs choice weapon was a .22 cause the bullet is usually mangled bounces off of bone and so forth. So if thats a .22 a well placed .380 will have no problem. Anything can kill you just have to put it in the right place.

  • @wavelength1970 Yes i just got mine today. They are suprisingly fing loud

  • @ten8goa .380 rounds make a good self defense round. I live in an apartment complex. If I ever find myself in a situation where I have to use my 45 and miss, I run the risk of that round going through thin apartment walls and killing my next door neighbor on the other side. In that case, there is absolutely no way you can claim self defense. I would end up going to prison. I seriously doubt you are going to run into a situation where you shoot a burglar with a .380 and he will keep at you.
