UNION, NJ (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)...Junior guard Antoine Rogers (Trenton, NJ/Ewing) grabbed a key defensive rebound, was fouled and hit a game-winning free throw with 7.2 seconds remaining before seizing another rebound as time expired and New Jersey City University held on for an important New Jersey Athletic Conference road victory over Kean University on Saturday at Harwood Arena.
NJCU (10-9, 4-5 NJAC) keeps its NJAC Tournament hopes alive while snapping a three-game losing streak and remaining above .500. Meanwhile, Kean has its three-game NJAC winning streak end, falling to 7-13 overall and 4-5 in the league. NJCU has won eight of the last nine meetings between the schools and leads the all-time series, which dates to 1931-32, by a commanding 90-32 margin (known results only).
