Goal Sports Management presents: Devon hodges, the top league goalscorer, scoring 25 goals in the 2008/2009 season, and the Jamaican Premier
League Most Valuable Player. Hodges started the 2009/2010-season strong, leading the Jamaican
Premier League with 12 goals to date (Dec 09).
Devon Hodges' scoring exploits, particularly his recent form in National Team have landed the stocky
striker in esteemed company. He made his debut for Jamaica in a May 2009 friendly match against
El Salvador and scored his first international goal in his second match against Panama.
Theodore Whitmore, the Jamaican National Team head coach has viewed Hodges as the natural
successor to the legendary veteran forward Paul 'Tegat' Davis. "It's been a long time we haven't
seen a goalscorer, a true natural finisher like Hodges and that's going well for us", Whitmore added.
Hodges gained local fame by setting the record for most goals scored in a single National Premier
League game, when he scored 10 during a 15-0 win (which is also a record).
Hodges has the whole package. He is strong and crafty, quick on his feet and fast in the open field.
He has a powerful and accurate right leg and is lethal with his left one, too. He combines these
qualities with a true natural scorer's instinct, which means there are no real limits to his potential.
Hodges is a talented, promising footballer ready for a new challenge at the international level.
