This fool suggests the folks on Medicare wouldn't want to give up their system. In the same spiel, he lambastes insurance companies for declining care due to preexisting conditions. Someone should tell this idiot that Medicare is the most prolific decliner of them all.
his comment about his district voting for Wallace is a bald faced lie too. His district was gerry-mandered in 2000 and didn't look anything like it does now when Wallace ran. It is a district controlled by the unions.
What a blowhard. It's a shame that people like this can fool enough voters to get elected. And yes, LaRueJC, Obama and Hare are in favor of the US govt taking over the health care system. The fact that he has the balls to say he is a card carrying capitalist is a load of crap.
I need healthcare. I don't want a hand-out, I wish to pay on a sliding schedule according to my wages. The insurance plan offered was rediculous. They will pay after you accumulate $2K but only up to 50%. After two years of putting a weekly amount in the 'kitty' they take whatever money is in your account. What?? Does this make sense to anyone?
. . . and exactly WHY should Phil not bring personalities into the conversation. That's what it is about HUMAN BEINGS. I have friends who go from Vermont to Canada for dental care. Get a grip!
Thank God for people like you, Phil! If not single-payer then we should at least have a choice in selecting a government plan. The most inane remark that I have heard is that the government will control your health care. No one could do worse than the insurance companies' control of health care now. Deny, deny, deny. We would NEVER willingly give up VA care for my disabled husband. WE thank God for the health care we get (I get Medicare and CHAMPVA). Our sorrow is for those without any.
Don't have lines in the US? Maybe not for you, but at my doctor's office, not only here in your district, but when I was living in New Jersey there were still lines. Also, what was that survey that you cited about 97 percent of Canadians liking their health care system? I'd like to follow up on that.
Also congratulations for trying to remove logic from your argument by using emotion about a that poor 31 year old guy who died of a heart attack. Nice propaganda.
Keep people watching.
Hares already talking about running in the Quad City District in 2012.
