Ride- Millburn HS Wind Ensemble, conducted by Sam R. Hazo

Sorry for the laaammeee image, but I heard some recordings of Ride on here and I was really compelled to upload our own school's wind ensemble playing it. We had the pleasure of Mr. Hazo coming in to conduct it himself; I think it ended up sounding very good.

I could take the time to make an actual slide show... but really, what would it be? People driving around fast through the countryside? Eh. Just listen.

Yeah, just did, that's a great recording! Are you talking about the one from Foothill or the other one?

Well, the Foothill one was a bit rusty since it was the beginning of the year, but the other one from Hawaii is the more improved one, haha. :)

Yeah, well once again it's an excellent recording. The visual quality wasn't great so I'm just curious because I couldn't tell... I think I saw a string bass in the front, but did you have any tubas? I didn't see them but once again it was pretty blurry!

We do, right next to the two string basses on the far right. and i think it's blurry because of the zoom feature.

Hah, well! No matter. I couldn't pick out the tuba part because frankly I can't remember what it sounds like, but I'm sure they played it beautifully!

=o I've played this with Mr. Hazo too!! It was WVU Honor Band 2008. At the first break of the first rehearsal he decided we were good enough to throw it out there and give it a shot. We loveddd it. I played bass clari. It was one of the toughest parts I've ever seen. We never get anything fun. Haha. Did you play any of his other pieces with him?

this is definitely the best rendition of this song that i have heard. the percussion, brass,sax and oboe solos heard clearly...thanx for putting it up...my skool played this song in 08 for our pops concert.its on the top of my list as one of the best songs ive ever played...i remember the feeling i got wen we played from 1:06 to 1:57 just chills

One of the greatest pieces I've heard for concert band in a LONG time. Makes me wish I had the score right now or just to play the alto sax I part.

my school will play this in the spring concert this year. We are SUCK. lest people love this song. No one have the mood to play this piece just some people included myself have the mood to pllay but we need trainings...a lot of fit for those who are not. Your school performence is the BEST. I love the wind parts and decosendoes . I play the flute 2.
