Hi Derek. Awesome wood boiler/burner so far - am hooked and in need of the next instalment ;)
That fan looks quite beefy and big. Was there any calculations to size it or was it a case of estimating? Looks to me like you might be making some kind of powerful blast furnace ;)
Can't wait to see the first burn and the the rest of it!!!

The fan was not done to a specific size, I just made the fan roughly the same size as the one in my gas boiler. The fan will be variable speed anyway so it will be easy to reduce the airflow.

having watched all part of this project of yours, i can't help but feel that the pace of the project has slowed somewhat! i have many questions - but the main ones being...
Is it finished yet?
Did it work (well)?
and you said you hadn't done much but, to date, you have shown some impressive skills. Your workmanship ought to give you some pride in yourt ability to create and problem solve.

@mjwalne31 Still trying to finish the car, just a little to go! (video soon I hope). Boiler is still at standstill but I have been doing lots of microcontroller programming (picaxe) for the car as it has a separate ecu for the lights, heating and battery management. This will mean the electronic control of the boiler will be simpler to implement as I have much more experience now!

Not much progress unfortunately, as the worst of the winter is almost done I am not in too much of a hurry to put it all together. I'm concentrating more on my electric car project just now as I want to get that on the road this summer. Be assured the boiler will get done before next winter! Watch this space.
