First as a human being, we must respect each other. If and when any Hindu did extremist acts, he is no different than any one else. Hindus have also done extreme cruelty to other living religions of India. Many Jain temples were destroyed by none other than Hindus, In fact, good Moslems saved Jain temples from being destroyed by Hindus. But all told, there is more Moslem fanatism prevailing in the world.

I remember seeing this movie in early 60s in Pakistan and this song was etched on my mind. Beautiful Kalpana Kartik lip singing a marvalous song by one of the greatest female singers of Subcontinent Lata Mangeshkar. Male version of this song by Talat Mahmoodd is also good one that Dev Anand lip sang. Movie was simple but showed good old days of Bombay when it still had colonial look/charm and was not so thickly populated.

u should not have gone to Pakistan. You could have had all of India. Why did you? See Maulana Azad's article on web..regard to Partition..

Brother; I was born in Pakistan in 1954. My parents, however, migrated to Pakistan at the time of partition. We can debate about the merits and demerits of partition and can remain equally divided. Key to the future is to live in peace, trade and prosper and someday may have our own Union/Confederation like EU. We should look into that possibility and work toward it. No more wars and waste of large amounts of money for defense by buying antiquated surplus armaments from the west.

Looking back can show everyone what we should do when we go ahead also. Please read the Maulana Azad article at your convenience. It is easily searchable on google when you type "two nations theory india pakistan", and see the difference of what Jinah said versus that by M. Azad.
Now for the future, do you believe there should just be one country ? I do. Moslems have made tramendous contributions in India.

Kindly read Jaswant Singh's on Quaid e Azam Mihammad Ali Jinnah and also re-evaluate your priorities as a Hindu nation e.g Gujarat and even what U did to the Sikhs..
Nehru and the extremist Hindu leaders for creating Pakistan.

dev anand was the biggest heart-throb of those days--this film features Dev and Kalpana Kartik (whom he was to marry later). Great Sahir, S.D., Lata number...actually this was not as lesser known as it may appear.....

My God Dev Anand is soooooo handsome. My Dad says at one time College girls used to drool over him. By the way I think the male version of this song is better than Lata's
