Field & Stream tests out fly reels with a motorcycle to simulate a fish peeling away. Trout swim at a max speed of 9 mph. The motorcycle takes line at 10 mph for a distance of 50 yards to test the drag's start up and overall smoothness. The line is then timed during the retrieve. But what happens when the fish at the end of the line is a mako shark going at 40 to 45 mph? Reels are broken down and examined afterwards to check for problems.

@theswordsman09 depending on the kind of shark, anything from an 8 weight to a 14 is good. the bigger the shark, the bigger the rod. Sage offers many high-weight rods. Get the best reel you can in your price range with a carbon fibre drag
