    I think he meant where he is from heavy metal wasn't big, and i guess it's true as New York at that time was all about rap and hip hop. So i guess he had to learn to appreciate that genre of music as he didn't grow up around it even though he new what it was and heard it, he didn't really listen to it is what i think he meant?

    It's like i don't really like Jazz music, i wasn't brought around it, but i know what it is.

  • "I didn't know heavy metal at all, I grew up in the 80's"? When metal was at it's commerical peak, when that's all they played on MTV. Strange comment
