The Saint Thomas Christians are a group of Christians from the Malabar coast (now Kerala) in South India, who follow Syriac Christianity. (Syro - Malabar & Syro - Malankara Catholic Churches, Malankara Syrian Orthodox [Jacobite] Church & Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Marthoma Syrian Church, Church of the East, Independent Church of Thozhyoor, St. Thomas Evangelical Church)
The different groups and denominations within the St Thomas Christians together form the Nasrani people. Their tradition goes back to the very beginnings of first century Christian thought and the seven churches that are believed to have been established by St. Thomas the Apostle.

St. Thomas the Apostle, arrived at Muziris (Kerala) in AD 52, from Ezion-geber on the Red Sea. The apostle established seven churches in Malabar at Kodungalloor (Muziris), Paravur, Palayoor, Kokkamangalam, Niranam, Chayal (Nilackal) and Kollam.

Hi you guys. I'm a Christian. I'm not indian, I'm actually hispanic. You know, it's kinda bugging me how you guys are arguing about different doctrines. We are ALL brothers and sisters in Christ. My suggestion is that INSTEAD of arguing about differences in churches, use that anger to fight off paganism in India and have the nation of India come to the feet of Christ. Pray and fight for your country in Jesus' name and DECLARE that your India will succumb to the Lord!

Very Interesting. What I had heard was that, until 200 A.D. there were no christinas. So it's a lie that, St. Thomas came here at 52AD. He practised black magic to convert Namboodiri Bhramins to Christinaity. So, he is another form of intruder like the racist Britishers and others. I have heard stories of Portugese throwing masses of beef on the Bhramins in Konkan coast to convert them to Christians.

Two: Christ IS the only way to the Father, but of course, as condescending as you may take it, I wouldn't expect you to want to understand that. and Three: Of course I sound ridiculous to you, the Bible says that the Gospel is insanity to those who walk without Christ. Find something else to do instead of insulting a perfect stranger whose life you know NOTHING about.

Seriously, give me a BREAK. All I said was that I want India to know Christ, not force them into Christianity at gunpoint. If anything, Christians and missionaries are persecuted incessantly in several parts of India for NO GOOD reason... just because extremists put tradition before coexistence...
