We spotlight the opening of the In Other Words lending library, a visionary community effort by the last non-profit feminist bookstore in the country. Also discussed is what In Other Words has meant to the Portland feminist community over the last 18 years, and the meaning of feminism today.

  • isn't feminism trying to do this "change of face" for its own PR because it has been involved in such sordid abuse of men by legal policy which MRA's expose about it. Therefore is this not just masking now! Doesn't a country that is involved in civil rights abuse and discrimination (in this case against men) try to show this positive, happy look etc.Trying to pretend feminism is not evil, failing to address its recent history IS cultural dishonesty! It's friendly face cons soceity from the truth

  • If Feminism is for everybody, then is this book on your shelves "The Myth of Male Power?"

  • Call it something else; anything else that suggests equality and I'll buy what you are selling. "Feminism" is too limiting to only one group of people.

  • Wonderful community institution. NIt's the real Women and Women First bookstore from Portlandia. It needs more mainstream books like Girl with the Dragon Tattoo or perhaps books by writers from the Pacific Northwest to help pay the bills.

  • So all the while you were selling $5 text books for about $150. And she said it with a straight face.

  • men are the only reason your allowed to talk look at the website your on a man made the world man made your kitchen man made dinner up to you love

  • Instead of empowering women still, should it not be a movement that is in remorse... given the evidence!

  • @bmediacollective That ignorance is at the heart of self-interest! If feminism wants to become a movement that men respect, should it not be open about the policies and legal practise it has done to disenfranchise men? Obviously your view conflicts greatly with the message the upload tries to put across, proving it is a spectre movement in reality.
