(People speculated that if our ancestors) ... ate more fish and shellfish, this might be one of the reasons they were able to evolve and becomes humans as we know our species today. Well, there are some specialists who work in the fossil-hunting business who now recognise that many of the early human fossil sites in fact do contain fish bones and shellfish remains.
So (thanks to ready availability of fish) there was a sort of "quantum leap" in our nutrient availability. The very nutrients that protect and maintain the brain today seem to have been more available, starting in the order of two million years ago, which is when the brain was just starting to expand, and to have been present in many of these sites as the brain continued to evolve and take its course to today.
Cool!!!
