Frosty's First ride

Frosty is a 2 year old APHA mare out of a Jose Cuervo mare, sired by Congress Champion TD Kid.

Frosty spent the winter at leisure due to extreme mud/snow conditions in our area. Finally, needing to work her on a good footing, I asked my friend and trainer Darrell Bereuter if I could bring her over and longe and drive her in his indoor. When we got there, he asked if she had ever had a bit in her mouth. I explained that she'd been saddled and bridled in conjunction with working in long lines. We tacked her up and he worked with her a few minutes in the driving lines. Then he announced, "Well, I think I'm going to ride her". I was shocked because I certainly hadn't expected that result. When he mounted she was absolutely still, and she remained calm and willing througout. He only asked her to walk, trot, stop and back, but I was impressed.
