Sorry if someone mentioned this already, but apparently Alan hadn't even see the screenplay and had no idea what the movie was about when he wrote the ten songs (really only nine as the 10th is just a re-working of the first). Lindsay Anderson just asked him to write some songs and in the weirdest twist of fate ever, they just fitted with the movie brilliantly,

thanks for you mr. Alan Price <3 for your music !!!

thanks for you mr. Lindsay Anderson!

When I first heard this amazing tune, I thought the singer was Eric Burdon. Now I find out that it's Alan Price, the keyboard player from the same band as Burdon! Weird, huh?

Hola!!!

a classic example of late 60s 70s art. Great directors collaborating with great musicians. Just like Harold and Maude- Ashby and Cat Stevens, or The Graduate - Mike Nichols and Simon and Garfunkel

Long before VCRs, there were many more theatres, and some were what were called "repertory" theatres that charged 50 cents, changed what they showed every few days but films would often come back--they'd print a playbill of what they were showing for six weeks or so. I'd go to the Strand Theatre in Ocean Beach (San Diego) for every single showing of this movie (usually a double feature with Malcolm MacDowell's other film of the era, "If.") I had to have seen it 30 times. Finally found it on DVD.
It's really cool hearing about everyone else whose life was changed by this film...It's a masterpiece. Why can't movies this good be made anymore?
