@markheliops.... I spent many a happy hour driving one of these in BAOR Germany .... 02 EA 88. 53C was my call sign :o) .... I wish I knew where it was now, as I tried to buy it about 15 years ago, but the army had already sold it :o(

Hi Matt.
All FV432 series vehicles do the following:
3 mpg / 0.538 km per litre
On the road you can get 300 miles / 483 Kms and off road you will get 173 miles / 278 Kms.
The tank capacity is 454 litres.
You need to be in posession of an H class licence in order to drive a tracked vehicle on the road - or a provisional H with L plates and a full H licence holder in the turret.
Regards
Mark

@markheliops Hi Mark
Great vid. I'm thinking of getting a 432 or a Spartan FV103, How do you register the vehicle for the road if it's just got it's reg number. Will it need to be q plated to tax it?. Also I hear they can't go faster than 20mph on the road and they cant be more than 2.28m wide? do you know if this is true.
Thank you in advance.

@Greenlaiming. There has been some talk of DVLA refusing to register them due to them being over width. However, I know of at least four FV432's being registered since without any issues at all. Those registered without issues simply did not include the width on the application forms. If you can obtain the Army release document issued when the vehicle was first sold, it has all the information required by DVLA. Pre 1973 vehicles will be taxed Historic, hence no road tax fee.

@markheliops By law - all tracked vehicles are restricted to 20 mph on public roads.

28-30 mph on the straight - that's fast enough in one of these, especially with the combined steering / braking assemblies. CVRT will do silly speeds - I seem to remeber a Scorpion clocked doing over 70mph - great until you have to stop quickly!!!

You can pick up an FV432 for around £4000 for a runner. A mint one will cost in the region of £10,000. We sold this one for £9000. It went to New Zealand.
