This is a metronome-based exercise for improving your snare-drum technique. Starting at 100 BPM, play 8th notes alterning right-right-left-left and right-left-right-left for 32 bars. The metronome increases of 5 BPM for another group of 32 bars (starting with a pre-count bar) and so on to reach the speed of 300 BPM !

Practice this 30 minutes MP3 exercise every day, this is your wrists fitness program. For best results, practice on a pillow.

  • where is the download? i went to ur website but when i click the dowload link it just goes to quicktime player

  • instead of practicing on pillows, strengthen your fingers hands wrists forearms with exercises isolating those areas. jojo mayers clapping exercise, wrist tapping, valving for fingers, stretching, etc etc...

practicing on pillows is not practical, really. practice with a realistic surface.

  • I usually do a regimen of doubles, singles, and paradiddle. It gives the same results with an extra control boost. But that's just me, this works fine for speed.

  • Where can i find this?

  • thanks a lot T_T

  • built my first kit an hour ago and had a bit of practice on my thighs after 5 mins on one at school 15 years ago!!!

fantastic clip to get to work with!

  • Thanks for making this, been looking for a good metronome exercise and this one is tops.

  • This is a good exercise! I got right on it yesterday and it works great!
