Horrmundsjøen is quite big (approx. 15 km long. It is definitely possible to fish from land, but if you want to go after big pike, you need a boat to be more effective, but if you know the good spots, its absolutely possible to fish from land, yes.

This is filmed in Trysil, the pike-scene is from "Ulvsjøen" in the western part of Trysil, while the other fish is from "Horrmundsjøen", which is just across the Swedish border, east of Trysil.
Horrmundsjøen is a very interesting lake, lots of fish, and many big ones too!
