This is good if you want a quick effect, but I always at least copy the background layer before making irreversible changes. Yes, you can use the "Undo" command, but once it's saved you can't go back. That's why I do dodging and burning on a separate layer, usually filling it with 50% gray, changing the blending mode to overlay or soft light, and painting with black or white instead of using the dodge/burn tool. Then you can delete it or change the opacity later on if you change your mind.

Another thing I'd suggest is to do a very light dodge on the skin underneath the eye and a light blur affect. It helps get rid of those pesky bags. Also if you use the blur tool lightly all over the face it gives more of an illusion of soft, clean skin. And soft, clean skin helps your makeup look amazing.
