the first attempt to recover the challenger ended in a broken cable and the challenger still in place. the second attempt 8 hours later is what is on the film. we couldn't start the machine because of the frozen starter and water in the transmission and rear end

How did that happen?!?!? BTW, (it would have helped to have someone driving the Challenger, LOL!)

the challenger broke through the ice while grooming a new road 8 miles from the closest dozer, which took over 3 hours to travel to the frozen challenger
