In the First World, this decade broke the boundaries of pop music from the 1950s and saw the growth and popularity of rock music. There was also an emergence of singer--songwriters that wrote and performed their own music such as Bob Dylan and The Beatles. Rock and roll music expanded greatly this decade with different genres of rock emerging such as folk rock and progressive rock, and later in the decade psychedelic rock was at its peak.

You say you've never heard of quite a few of them and given the numbers...a lot of the ones you mentioned are great songs..and you should maybe check out more on these bands/singers. I'm a hippie at heart and my choices would've been very different!! Everybody would pick a different 25 as there are so many great 60's songs! - Peace!

Garota de ipanema in this selection! girl from Ipanema is not a good song, should be forgotten, this is a song of masturbation of two old man, I often feel the cream is a thousand times better than this shit made​in Brazil!
