How is that frightening or disturbing? I think that's really, really cool! I'd be more scared if we (meaning life on Earth) in fact were the only living things in the universe.

It is nice to hear deGrasse acknowledge the "almost spiritual" and the universe is within us as we are within her
The most common elements have such amazing chemical capabilities and all those laws of physics just seem to be conspiring to create sentient life that values it's very existence :O
Now what other purpose could a Universe possibly aspire to?
Yes we are special... more special than a cosmos full of dumb rocks for sure ;o)
