The Atoned - Death Note AMV

Yet Another Death Note AMV. I have always had the idea that I wanted Light to go back to his old self, before the Death Note, and atone for his actions. After all, I think that he is not inherently evil, it's just that the power of the Death Note got to his head.

After much searching, I discovered this song by the British band Embrace. It fit the vision I had perfectly, and so this AMV was born. It is a story told in reverse; the main parts of the story that are in reverse are in color, and the parts that are told forward are in black & white. However, at the end, the forward and backward parts meet, and the ultimate conclusion of the story is reached.

This was really amazing. I never thought of Light maybe atoning for his sins, and the animation at the end where you changed "Death Note" to "The Atoned" was some of the most amazing animation I've ever seen in an AMV. Very, very well done, Chui-san ^-^

@Lyria0chan Thanks! I was really loving this song at the same time I was getting really getting into Death Note, so it just kind of happened to click. You never know what ideas will run together in your head to make an AMV idea!

i would really like to make them more episodes they could easily do it and really it would be awesome the idea of having the back old self and atone for his crimes.

have u seen the director's cut of death note?if not the watch it

some of the clips are from the director's cut, for example the stuff around 1:13 is only found in the rewrite... plus, the director's cut was broadcast in HD, which beat the DVDs I had to work with!

i thought the ending was pretty final, though. continuing the DN storyline would be like beating several dead horses.

Wow, a lot of amv ideas are overplayed and unoriginal, but the backwards effect and Light's atonement are such great new ideas. Really well-done.

@chui101 If i had the opportunity to change the world, I'd kill anyone who stood in my way, assuming that too was possible. If there was a benefit for using someone I would.

I think alot of people would do anything they could to reach their ultimate goal, as long as they had the power. But without the power everyone's just an average Joe. Look at Kira before he found the Death Note? He was a Normal kid.

@salidan1 no, it doesn't. if the person is completely unwilling to change then who do you help by keeping those people around, they'll just hurt more innocent people because they find it fun, they want to, because they can. or maybe they just don't care. i'm glad light became kira. what do you think would have happened to that girl in the first episode he had not acted, she would have been raped.
