For 45 centuries, the Great Sphinx has cast its enigmatic gaze over Egypts Giza plateau. . This strange half-human, half-lion image has inspired countless fantastic theories about its origins. NOVAs expert team of archeologists, including Mark Lehner (director, Ancient Egypt Research Associates), carries out eye-opening experiments that reveal the techniques and incredible labor that was invested in the carving of this gigantic sculpture. Watch Riddles of Sphinx Tuesday, January 19th on PBS. www.pbs.org/nova/sphinx
do not watch this crap!!!
they do not even debate that the erosion of the sphinx is based upon the heavy waterflow around 10500 bc in that area
and they do not say that there is an alignment of the pyramids and the sphinx based upon stars again 10500 bc. and they even say that all is done by pure men power try to lift these stones with as much people as u want won't work. and they say the pyramids are tombs, but there was never a mummy found in a pyramid. not to forget the immense precision

A man's life.
In the morning of his life he is a baby, walking on all fours. By noon he walks on two legs. Come the evening he needs the assistance of a cane.

I am afraid I know nothing of the Sphinx, nor archaeology, nor rock architecture - I'm a propulsions engineer - so I am at a loss for an explanation for anything.

[2] @1RadicalOne In 1st link it says notably "U might think that Sphinx is only 6000 years old, but its not. Scientists now know that its about 12,500 yrs old according 2 the physical wear of the rocks themselves from 1000s of yrs of heavy rainfall weathering. (Studies by John Anthony West & Prof Robert Shock, Boston University) For last few 1000s yrs, Egypt has been DRY, so how did rocks become SO heavily weathered by RAIN WATER not wind erosion? If U go back to 10,500 BC U have your answers.
