Tuning across the AM broadcast band with a simple regenerative receiver (2 transistors + 1 IC).

A tuned loop antenna supplements the internal ferrite rod. These are inductively coupled - there are no wires. As the loop is a very sharp tuned circuit it affects the regeneration settings so tuning is a three-handed affair.

Tuning a TRF or regenerative receiver in the 1920s would have been similar to this set except there are more stations around now and selectivity is more important.

  • Magic!-Pete-YOU still get a "boot "out of---constructing-----circuits that "run "at their maximum.

When I was a "young man "-I constructed a two transistor regenerative radio that "went "for three years 24/7---until the "Salt Water Battery "--expired

    Audio-was ALL ways-great!

Keep you enthusiasm up-------WE all love your videos

    Steve.
