I am a former member of the bible baptist church before, I also give tithes or 10%, having taken a vow to God, if i will stop giving tithes am I not committing sin to God because I already had this vow?

  • Actually tithing just prevents christians to give more.....Jesus tought that everything belongs to him. And that´s a statement we don´t want to except. So we rather stick to 10% to keep up our overflowing lifestyle. And the teaching that you will be FINANCIALLY blessed by tithing is just not out of the New Covenant, it is a missleading desception. Bless you all.

  • Your title says it all. Keep sharing the TRUTH. Thanks for posting.

  • You are so correct. There in no scripture after Calvary that speaks of tithing. Also, scriptures say that we are to be cheerful givers.

2 Corinthianians 9:7- Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

This scripture is in conflict with tithing which is very strict. Jesus came so we didn't have to be under the Old Covenant because it was hard. It is insulting to give JESUS 10% anyway.

  • Nation??????? Israel!! Go and Look at when the CHURCH GOT ESTABLISHED. u aint gonna find where the apostles taught it.

  • Tithes were only for ancient Israelites. And one of the purposes of the tithe was to have a BIG party once a year with gluttony and booze! Deuteronomy 14:26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul LUSTETH after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for WINE, or for STRONG DRINK, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household Party on, brothers!
  • The book of Malachi is burdened or laden to Israel before Jesus was born. It was not written for Christians

Mal 1:1 The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi.

That is why the Lord of Host want Israel to remember the Law of Moses. Tighting is in the Law of Moses

Mal 4:4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

  • thank you very jtray3.. you people need to read your bibles.. Nowhere in the bible does it say a thing about tithes being a commandment nor does it say that its going to your preachers and or pastors. Tithes are you giving back to God what he has given to you all the blessings and richness in your life. You people are so stupid.. he is talking bout number i hope you people went back to numbers and reviewed that text for yourselves.

  • Tithing was never about money nor was it commanded for Christians to tithe. People need to read their bibles.

  • alls i have to say is that im dead to the law by the BODY OF CHRIST, and Christ aint teach not one of his hand picked Apostles to teach or to pay tithe.

  • No longer a commandment? Where does it read that?

Jesus came to fulfill the law, not demolish it. Meaning, nobody lived without breaking the law.

I guess stealing is ok now...

    Help em Lord!
