I think ultimately, Nena decided to make an English video as well as a German video of this song, which had just came out as a single in Germany, in the possibility of getting it released as a single on the international 99 Luftballons album. Unfortunately, the single flopped in Germany and ultimately, it never went beyond the video in the English world.

If it's any consequence, Nena wasn't very successful outside of where they were successful from the start, which was Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Everywhere else, their only successful single was "99 Red Balloons".

Many of the singles Nena put out internationally tended to be singles that were not very popular where they were most popular. This one, as well as "It's All In The Game".

She still sings just in German it's to bad Germany is so Americanized they have lost there identity.

Nena is beautiful and what a voice!
