I'm reluctant to ask this, but can I pass the present CAPM if I study with version 3? I'm enrolled in an online course that will provide me with the 23 hours I need to sit for the test, and already have a copy of version 3

Maybe...most of the 9 knowledge areas cover the same stuff but I personally would not do it.  There are several changes to version 4 and it is a much better read as well.
