Brian Copeland is a genuine black man, he's also a genuine human being who is prejudiced against people of his own race. He even stated that he looks down on other blacks. Once he said that he wouldn't drive though Richmond on a dark night. Brian Copeland generalized that all of Richmond is crime-ridden and it's not safe to even drive through at night. This is no different than someone saying all n-words are dumb, lazy welfare recipients.

Can't believe I saw this clip for first time. I went on a T.V. strike for past ten years, so as I have tuned in again, I realize the magnitude of what I've missed. I can relate to Brian because I feel the same way as a Black woman. What I do is to assist Black males with Public Defenders to make sure they are not "railroaded." When you understand racism and do nothing effective to minimize it, then the comments like those to Brian will always slap you in the face when you are a public voice.
