HP Tablet PCs used in Higher Education.

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College was selected to receive a 2008 HP Technology for Teaching grant, which is designed to transform teaching and improve learning in the classroom through innovative uses of technology.

SMWC received an award package of HP products and a faculty cash award valued at more than $77,000. Each of the HP Technology for Teaching grant recipients will use wireless HP Tablet PCs to enhance learning in engineering, math, science, or computer science. At SMWC, the tablets are currently used in three courses: Introduction to Computer Software, Business Finance, and Chemistry.

I wish my high school would use tablet computers. But my school has a few budget cuts and having to change the schedules and our chairs to something less durable. I'd love to take notes on a tablet or laptop though.

In this video you see the 2710p which is the predecessor of the EliteBook 2730p. Other, more affordable Tablets, made by HP are the Pavilion tx2500-Series (with a Touchscreen in addition to the Wacom-Digitizer) and the new Touchsmart tx2 with Multitouch capabilities.
