.
Nonono, the OS is open source, not the Android apps. Payed android apps are closed source. Even free apps could be closed source. The thing is, Google won't be closing the doors on your device. You'll know how it works.

An further reading adds that Android goes by the Apache License, meaning that closed source code can exist with the open source OS, as opposed to many copyleft licenses.

@lighangel Yeah, you can view the code and copy it, but that would be illegal (copyright). And you can download the .apk program file without paying for the app and put it on the phone (but that would also be illegal).

They sync with Google Calendar and contacts - without even asking.. and a few clicks you can sync with Facebook friends.. Don't know about MS Outlook - Microsoft will no doubt charge for that.. . .I use Google for everything so for me it was simple.. There is probably an app for it.. Just checked and yes - it's called "MY Link advanced" don't know if it works though..

I've got this phone... It's really good. Only problem with my HTC hero is that I keep accidentally changing the volume up and down. Otherwise it's really good.. Better than the I-phone 3gs, which is (i'm sorry to offend) getting a bit common now.

I believe it means the "source code" is free to developers.

Eu gostaria demais de saber qual o celular, e se esta no brasil androide com isso, o mais novo, ou melhor, o mais atualizado, quem disponibiliza o nome e, como informaçoes que veicula uma grande midia, são genéricas, nada específico

Freeware is an application you can use for free. Open Source is an app you can use for free as well as view the source code and do what you will with the source code. OpenSource from what I know is always free, I may be wrong so you wont be paying him for anything. But you can take the source code make another application
